Happy December, everyone!
If you have musicians in your family or circle of friends, you may know that they are constantly singing because everyone wants musicians for Christmas concerts/programs/dinners/etc. It’s a tiring season for sure! The Brazells won’t be done with Christmas gigs until Christmas Eve!
**Also, forgive my shameless/shameful plug, if you, your church, or anyone you know needs live music for an event, do not hesitate to ask! We do everything from classical repertoire, Top 40 hits, hymns/contemporary Christian….you name it, we play and sing it!**
Our choirs have been quite busy as well!
Winter Concert
We had our winter concert on December 4th in the CHS auditorium. It was the debut for Voices of Chesnee, and the official debut for the choir as Viva Voce! All of our choirs sang beautifully, and I am already looking forward to what they will accomplish next semester!
Prior to our concert, we wanted to make sure we were all in good health, so we had a tea party! Let’s hear it for vocal health!
Chesnee Elementary Fine Arts Night
Two days after our concert, we were invited to sing carols at the Chesnee Elementary Fine Arts Night! The whole event was very cool, with many ensembles singing/playing, live art, and very cute therapy dogs! We sang about 10 carols on repeat, so by the end of the night we were all a little tired of Silver Bells. ;) Overall, it was a fun time!
Middle School Visit
This week we went to visit the 8th grade choir class at the middle school to get them excited about choir at CHS! We sang some of our pieces from this semester, showed them how we warm up and what a typical class rehearsal is like, and answered some questions! We hope to see many, if not all of them, next year!
Lessons
If you, your child, or anyone in your family is interested in taking private guitar, piano, or voice lessons next semester, please visit www.chesneechoirs.com/lessons for more information! I’ll be offering two 7-week sessions for lessons for anyone looking to explore a new instrument, or dive deeper into their current musical study! All lessons are tailored to the student’s interests and ultimate goals, while also providing a solid foundation of music fundamentals.
I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, and a very Happy New Year! See you in 2019! :)
